What are tips for hiring a pro?

  • We want you to have a fantastic home improvement experience. Please take a moment to review our tips to help keep your project on track:
  • Confirm whether licensing is required in your area for the work requested.
  • Ask for proof of insurance and bonding so you’re covered in case of damage.
  • Confirm your homeowner’s insurance requirements to see if you’re covered in the event something goes awry.
  • Request local referrals and see other work in person.
  • Research other online review sites.
  • Get a written, itemized contract and sign off on scope changes throughout the project.
  • Be wary if you’re asked to put down a large cash deposit before a contract is signed and you haven’t vetted the pro. Always go with your instincts. If something feels off, do not proceed.
